Graduated from Tarleton State University with a Masters In Education in 1991.

I have been at Brock ISD since 2001. Prior to Brock, I have taught at Tison Jr. High, Happy Hill Farm Academy & Granbury Elementary School.

I am married to the most wonderful man, Kevon Ward.  We celebrated 30 years together this year.  Kevon is head of the custodial team of all the Brock ISD schools.  We have three sons.  All have completed their education process.

Our oldest son, Mark, is an Agricultural teacher at Water Valley ISD.  He has been married for 6 years to a beautiful woman, Haley.  They have given us the most beautiful granddaughters, Lindsey (3yrs old) and Makyensie (22 months old).  Haley is an elementary teacher at TLCA in San Angelo.

Number 2 son, James graduated with his certification as a paramedic from Weatherford College and is now working at Vista Sands in Cresson.  Hia beautiful bride is a former Brock graduate, Kristy Jordan.  Kristy is working on her education to be an elementary teacher at Weatherford College.  They will celebrate their first year of marriage this September.

Our last son, Ben, graduated from Tulsa Welding School and is working at putting up metal buildings with a private contractor.  He wants to eventually work on the pipelines around the world.

Personally, I have always wanted to be a teacher.  At the age of 14, I felt God calling me into the teaching field.  I then decided I wanted to be a CPA but changed my major after 2 years of schooling.  I then finished my Bachelor of Science from Tarleton State University in 1985.  I started immediately working on my Masters in Education that same summer.  I attained my Masters in 1991 while I was a stay at home mom raising my children.

I was so fortunate to be able to be a school volunteer as my sons were growing up.  I then returned to work in 1996.  I thoroughly enjoy teaching my students.  After teaching in all levels, I have found my place at the Junior High level.

My goal is always to be a learner myself. You never grow to old to gain knowledge. I came across this quote the other day by Ralph Waldo Emerson.  " Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously.  And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude."  Thank you for privilege of teaching your young people.
